Happy New Year everyone

YES we STILL have snow. Snow,Snow go away....................

So what does a Mother do when you have been snowed in the over two weeks now. We were lucky to have a few crafts around and were given some for gifts so I have been busy trying to keep Rachel from going crazy too. We have been making Ginger bread house, cookies, a Chia pet, painted a clock, homemade snow flakes, building a snowman and along winters nap with Daddy. So it really hard when you hear everyone else can get around and we are STILL snowed in, I am guessing we still have about 7 inches of ice and snow.

We made snow candy today

So what do you do when it snows every day, you go and make snow candy. My friend Alicia gave me this fun idea. Bring in the pans of snow and drizzle the Carmel over the snow. Try and not to let it pool in globs. WARNING: This is a hot sugar mixture and will cause severe burns. Please watch kids closely! Work quickly. It will harden immediately. Gently lift the hard candy off the snow. Break it into smaller pieces, and enjoy!!!

18 inches of snow but who's counting.....

My ruler only goes up to 15 inches so i am guessing it's about 18 inches. We have had a few trees down along the road, with this wet snow i am not surprised

Funny story

So these last two days we have been having trouble with our power and water, so our dear friends Bob and Gary came over to the rescue and tada we have water. thank you so much and also thanks to Jody for a yummy dinner and that is where my funny story come into it. Jody makes the most yummy cup cakes, so when Mark handed me a bag which had all this yummy food in it, Rachel saw cup cakes and asked me if she could have one. So i asked her if she would like some frosting on it. As she was eating it she said "Mama this is the best cup cake in the world i have ever had" So knowing Jody made it i wasn't surprised. So i called jody to says thanks and tell her what Rachel said she laughed and said that wasn't a cup cake it was a corn bread. So now i know Rachel likes corn bread. Thanks everyone for all your help.

Our house has gotton a little crazyer in these last faw days, we are dogie sitting for some friends so we have a house full of dogs. they are all getting along great and are enjoying the snow.

Brrrrrrrrrrr 8 degrees out side

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. It's 8 degrees out side. But yesterday was a long day, we were out of power for 14 hour which means we also don't have water. This is just the calm before the storm.... The news is telling us we are going to get another storm tonight with high winds and more snow. We live in the woods which means ice, snow and trees down, which all mounts up to more power outrages. wish us luck.

It's still snowing.....

8 inches and counting............

We are having a GREAT family day playing in the snow. We have 8 inches and it is STILL snowing hard. We all got snow clothes on and went out to play. Sophie would not come back in side i had to run after her. She had all snow balls on her fur i have given her three warm baths this morning. Rachel and Daddy were making snow angels and then we went for a little walk.

My sweet friend Dana gave Rachel and I a really cool gift this morning. (Thanks Dana) So I have to say this has to be one of my favorite gifts ever. This gift was a a bags of cookie mix, cookie cutters and all the trimming to go with them. Sometimes we get so busy at christmas time shopping and getting really for the big day, we forget to take the time to just enjoy our kids. So Rachel and I have had so much fun spending some quality time together. Making cookies and having a great time. To me this is what being a Mum is all about spending time with my daughter. What a great idea.

Let it snow

We got about 4 inces of snow last night, bbarrrrr is cold out side. We had so much fun playing in the snow. Our little Angel wanted to make a snow Angel. Sophie was barking to get outside and play in the snow, so i put her warm coat on her, she had so much fun playing with Rachel.

Ho Ho Ho

Every year I take Rachel to True Value to see there Santa, they have the best Santa. As we were walking in A fire truck pulled up with Santa in it. To see the look on Rachel face, just about made me cry. To see her eyes sparkle with joy, the magic of Christmas was amazing. Thanks Santa!!!

Rachel is growing up so fast.

Last year these Christmas decorations looked so big next to Rachel and this year she looks big against them.
